Professional dismantling of gas-filled GIS systems
Dismantling and disposal of SF6 GIS and GIL systems
The dismantling of switching and pipe systems filled with SF6 gas requires a great deal of experience and the appropriate equipment. A GIS system or a GIL system contains large quantities of SF6 gas. The different parts of the system are protected by various safety devices ensuring no SF6 gas can escape during operation, even in the event of malfunctions.
The dismantling of gas-filled GIS systems and GIL systems therefore requires precisely coordinated extraction of the various system components in the correct sequence to avoid excessive pressure differences. Our sister company SF6 Recycling GmbH has specially designed high-performance extraction units that are extremely compact and specifically designed to safely extract large quantities of SF6 gas in a short time. We own a large number of 600 liter pressure tanks to temporarily store several tons of SF6 gas until it is professionally recycled. If needed, we are happy to return the purified SF6 gas to you in a desired quality that far exceeds the specifications of IEC 60376. The quality of the processed SF6 gas can be tailored to your requirements.
Our employees have both the knowledge and the experience in dismantling complex oil-filled and SF6-filled switchgear so that we can dismantle your GIS and GIL systems on a project-specific basis and supply the system components to recycling. For us, it goes without saying that active system components are physically separated before dismantling. We have already dismantled numerous GIS and GIL systems in narrow inner-city locations or in cavern power plants. As we only work in the electricity industry, we are familiar with the special occupational health and safety and environmental protection requirements of our customers. With our own vehicles and equipment, we react quickly and flexibly to your requirements.

By recycling both the SF6 gas and the system components in our own approved recycling plants, you can be sure that all legal requirements are met. As a certified waste management company, our processes and disposal routes are regularly audited so that you can be sure that you are fulfilling your operator obligations.
